Coinciding with the visit of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to Nigeria, We are pleased to announce today, 1ST of September 2016, the coming on stream EmployMe e-Learning centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
As a HR firm, our discovery in Nigeria on job availability, placement and engagement is quite alarming. Most Nigerian job seekers lack the required skills and haven’t done enough to acquire any. After university degree and armed with an NYSC certificate of completion, the average Nigerian graduate feels (s)he is set for that ‘dream job’ with big pay. However, a whopping 72% of people in this category don’t know of skill sets in job requirement and don’t have any. It is on this that the EmployMe Nigeria group has completed modalities to open an E-Learning centre for Nigerians to add specialized e-skills to their qualification and better prepare themselves for the job market or foray into the Entrepreneurial world.
A situation where a 28 year old female graduate can upload selfies on instagram but can’t attach files on mail nor convert word file to PDF is indeed alarming. Many of such instances abound in the Nigerian society. Our e-learning centre will be set up at localities with high percentage of unemployed with a view to giving youngsters, applicants and undergraduates various work and technology skills for work and entrepreneurial capabilities.
Foremost social media influencer, Chukwuebuka Chinasa Akara having been in the know on this project and the failing level of tech knowledge by Nigerians, have agreed to join us in an ambassadorial capacity. Mr Akara will help educate and inform Nigerians, using himself as an example of what technology can advance and the limitless opportunities abound in tech inspired skills.
In his words on acceptance of our offer, @Ebuka_Akara noted; “I am accepting to be an ambassador for EmployMe e-learning centre as not only will it help my peers but it will give me another platform to share my knowledge and story on how I got from a mere past timer on twitter to earning 7 digits off twitter every week” “We all can benefit from online and digital media marketing, it’s an open market with a huge prospect if you are tutored and know your way around it”
‘Our e-learning centre will be set up at localities with high percentage of unemployed with a view to giving youngsters, applicants and undergraduates various work and technology skills for work and entrepreneurial capabilities’.
Opening first in Lagos next month, EmployMe E-Learning centre will amongst many options, offer courses on 3D Animation, Graphics, Web design, development and management, Social Media and Digital marketing, Content development, software and App designs, maintenance and contenting, Social Media Management and many more. The centres, will also have Tech Hubs and suites for tech inspired innovations and a tech farm for members/students to synergize and develop into global brands. This are tech inspired skills currently in short supply in the job market, an opportunity we hope Nigerians will avail themselves of.
