THANK YOU EMPLOYME TEAM
After my youth service and with good graduating grades coming out from ABSU I thought in no time i will get a job. I won several awards in school and was best performing corper at my place of primary assignment, infact all the student that sat for Physics in SSCE at Community Sec, School Onelga-Rivers State had atleast a pass and the school was happy with me but couldn’t employ me.
Three years after service I may have submitted over a hundred CV’s online and by physical delivery, in all i got about 10-12 interview invites. After the interviews they will say: ‘well done we’ll contact you soon’.
This was the circle year in year out from 2012-2015. Late in July 2015 my brother inlaw introduced me to the employme team. I gave them my CV and they invited me, their grading of my CV was…2/10 very poor they told me. ‘So it was this poor and I never knew it’ I said to myself. The one on one session with them in Lagos opened my eyes to a lot of things; Interview tips, CV-make up, and even how my facebook and instagramm affects my job search. It was revealing. They added just a few ‘updates’ on my CV and I returned back to Port Harcourt. I started another round of CV submitting but this time with confidence and praying for just one interview invite. Weeks went by no feedback on a particular day however I opened my mailbox I had 4 “based on your application for a job in our company you are hereby invited for a…” at once.
Did I attend all? NO! I choose the one in PHC and Abuja (the 2 from Lagos I simply ignored since I hated Lagos life). After the interview in PHC I left for the Abuja one. Was it successful? Yes, infact I am yet to return to Port to get my belongings since the bank offered me the chance of training two days later. Am a little above 50K salary wise pending my confirmation but the confidence I gained from employme office is priceless.
Thanks and God bless your team
